FUNDAMENTALISTS NOT HAPPY WITH ATTA'S WIFE

Fundamentalists of the Ogwuchekwo Religion have condemned the gorgeous dressing of the wife of the Atta during his coronation rituals that held days back.

Speaking from Idah over the weekend, an Ogwuchekwo faithful who pleaded anonymity expressed dissatisfaction on what he called the politician’s wives syndrome.

He said he wouldn’t want a situation where people will infer disrespect for the office of Atta else, this matter is one that requires serious scolding and instant correction.

It is not part of our tradition for Atta’s wives to attend public events let alone sit beside or anywhere close to the Atta. I want to believe she does not know and I think the Edibo’s and On’oji’s should have let her know all these.

Atta’s wives don’t go to market, they don’t visit people in the day time, and they are special people with special limits. 

What then is the essence of the age long tradition that prevents people from building tall buildings around the palace to avoid sighting Atta’s wives over the palace fence? He queried.

He however expressed confidence in the new Atta. He noted that he is a man that has respect for tradition and as soon as this is brought to his notice, he will make necessary corrections.

You will recall that the Atta’s wife walked with him into the palace during the last lap of his coronation. She also sat close to the Atta at Civic Centre located in the palace and this has been a source of unhealthy debate.
